Day 7 Bromo - Lovina

Image
Crossing Bali Strait  We woke up early in the morning (1 am) and continued our journey to Mount Bromo-Tengger-Semeru National Park. We used jeep because it is the best car to deal with this area.  The road to the mountain was pitch black. I fell asleep for sometimes. But my friend, Viony told me that she could see the stars, so pretty. But the time when I woke up. I couldn't see anything except the light from the car. It was kinda spooky. It's so cold  Our teacher, Mrs.Magda :) Woo I almost couldn't see anything The sun! :) Even though it was kinda cloudy it's still beautiful  It's called "Watusinga". Watu means rock or stone and Singa means lion in Indonesia. I mean, it does look like a lion, right? THAT WAS A GREAT ADVENTURE :) And after that, we continue our long journey to Bali! We stayed at Lovina for one night. We arrived in Lovina at about 8 pm. So tired and hungry.

Day 6 - JBO

It was a long road... At the sixth day of Jawa-Bali Overland. We went from Yogyakarta to Malang. It was a very long road since we didn't stop at any tourist attractions. We just went straight from Yogyakarta to Malang. Yogyakarta is located in the Central Java and Malang it is in East Java. So it's a long road from central to east.  We saw a lot of trees and long long road, it felt like we're not gonna arrive in there soon. And it's true, we reached our hotel at 8:30 pm and we were so tired. But the restaurant, where we had dinner, it is called Inggil Restaurant. I'm very recommend it because it has the kinda of Javanese traditional style and very attractive.

Day 5 - Around Yogyakarta

After we visited the Kraton Yogyakarta, we went to Taman Sari or Water Castle. It is not too far from Kraton and the place is really beautiful. I recommend you to visit it :) Near Taman Sari, there's a wayang (wooden puppet) maker and the place is almost like an art studio. There are some paintings in there and they are very nice. These are some of the paintings in there Then we went to Batik Roro Djonggrang to see the process of making batik. She's drawing the pattern for batik with pencil Batik cap, they stamp the pattern into a fabric And this is the traditional handwriting batik Well Roro Djonggrang is actually a batik store, so after we saw the process, they took us to the store. The batik was pretty good but I didn't find anything that suits so I left the store with nothing, even though I'm still thinking about those pretty scarfs... Batik Scarfs :)

Day 5 Yogyakarta City Tour

Kraton Yogyakarta - Grebeg The day when we visited  Kraton  Yogyakarta or Yogyakarta Palace it was a celebration day. It's called Grebeg. It is also happens 3 times a year so we're very lucky :)  And these are some pictures that I took in there. These are the soldiers of the Kraton. There were many soldiers. The soldiers of Kraton are very unique. It is actually consist of 10 group of soldiers. They have their own signature style...   And people were waiting for this stack of food or  gunungan makanan in Indonesia. They took it out of Kraton and then the food would be given and shared with people around Kraton. The people around here believed that by taking the food, you will be blessed. And because of that reason also, a bunch of people were pushing just so they could, at least touch it. Or if they're lucky they could take it home. It was amazing and very crowded outside unlike inside the Kraton. I recomme

Night at Day 4

Ramayana Ballet Perfomance - Prambanan It's still continuing the last post, so after the Borobudur, Mendut, and Pawon temple. We went to Prambanan to watch Ramayana Ballet Perfomance.  The show began...  In the middle of the show, we had a restroom break because it is a long show and I bet they knew that the audience need a rest. After all, the Ramayana story is a long story especially if you're trying to write the real storybook. But reading the story first is actually giving you some advantages so that when you watch the Ramayana performance you won't be questioning about the characters anymore or how the story goes. And the performance will become more exciting and not boring. So, my advice is read first :) My camera's battery was low so I didn't get many pictures as usual but it's ok because the show was awesome and I will come back again someday :)
