Day 5 - Around Yogyakarta

After we visited the Kraton Yogyakarta, we went to Taman Sari or Water Castle. It is not too far from Kraton and the place is really beautiful. I recommend you to visit it :)

Near Taman Sari, there's a wayang (wooden puppet) maker and the place is almost like an art studio. There are some paintings in there and they are very nice.

These are some of the paintings in there

Then we went to Batik Roro Djonggrang to see the process of making batik.

She's drawing the pattern for batik with pencil

Batik cap, they stamp the pattern into a fabric

And this is the traditional handwriting batik

Well Roro Djonggrang is actually a batik store, so after we saw the process, they took us to the store. The batik was pretty good but I didn't find anything that suits so I left the store with nothing, even though I'm still thinking about those pretty scarfs...

Batik Scarfs :)
